Description
Using this kit, students can build their own robotic pet hedgehog with built-in sound sensor that is programmed to react to different sounds. Once built, kids can play with their new pet by making different sounds to watch it tumble, roll, spin, bristle its spines and scurry around the classroom. With one clap, the hedgehog will roll itself into a ball and tumble backwards. With multiple claps, it will tumble as many times as you clap. Different patterns of claps will cause the robot to bristle its spines and act playfully. LED lights give the hedgehog a life-like look in its eyes.
Building a robotic pet hedgehog teaches children about the inner mechanical workings that make robots move, as well as the gears, motors, sound sensors, LEDs, and the other components involved in this project.
