Description

The Strawbees STEAM Classroom Robotics Kit is the complete building and coding solution for your class. It includes digital lessons using the robotics board to add robotic capabilities to Strawbees projects with the micro:bit. Teachers can explore the digital platform Strawbees Classroom which was designed for teachers by teachers. The pre-written lessons are aligned to curriculum standards so you can quickly and easily get started. The STEAM School Kit has over 4,500 pieces to serve up to 30 students. There are 5 lengths of pre-cut straws and 4 colors of connectors for scaling project sizes, plus a Pocketful of Ideas card deck featuring over 100 challenges to inspire your students. All components arrive in a cardboard storage box with pull out trays for quick set up.

This kit without micro:bit includes 2 of the Robotic Inventions for micro:bit 10-Packs. Using your existing classroom set of micro:bits with the Robotic Inventions board adds robotic capabilities with 2 RGB LEDs and up to 3 servo motors for any Strawbees building project. The LEDs, buttons, inputs and outputs, accelerometer, magnetometer and Bluetooth Smart Technology can all be individually programmed.

Students will use Microsoft's MakeCode block-based programming platform for writing and uploading a program, then remove it from the computer and let it run on batteries. This enables them to extend programming to their physical world by creating interactive physical and mechanical inventions with the Strawbees building system and micro:bit.

All electronics easily connect to the Strawbees connectors and straws and all materials are custom made, durable and reusable for hours and hours of inventive exploration.
