Official Finalists Available at Midwest
A few of the finalists for the Educators Pick Best of STEM® 2023 Awards are available right here at Midwest Technology Products.
Bird Brain Finch Robot 2.0 - The Finch is a robot that brings computer science to life by providing students from Kindergarten to college a hands-on representation of their code. It uses a Bluetooth wireless connection or the integrated rechargeable battery to power its 5 tri-color LEDs and multi-tonal buzzer. There are markings on the wheels to help count revolutions, and the surface can be written on with whiteboard markers!
Owlet Cube - Cube is a math manipulative that uses a sensor-enabled tower to help students learn place value with concepts such as whole numbers, money, and decimals. Each tower has 3 tracks to represent 100s, 10s, and 1s places. Students stack up small white cubes according to prompts to create numbers and solve math problems. Over 25 levels are available for students to practice and build math skills.
Owlet Glow- Combining the technology of an LED display with the functionality of an Etch-a-Sketch, Bird Brain's Glow math tool helps students make sense of math. Dials and buttons control the lights which illustrate operations, write math equations, and model fractions. This hands-on method helps students visualize abstract math concepts in a concrete way. Three Glow apps are available for continuous learning: GlowGrid, GlowPix, and Fractions.
Ozobot Evo - Evo is a 1", desk-friendly robot packed with tech. Teach your students to code Ozobot Evo two ways: online with OzoBlockly or screen-free with Color Code markers. OzoBlockly has five skill levels from beginner to master coding. Color Codes teach basic CS skills, critical thinking, and debugging. Powered by Bluetooth, each robot has proximity and optical sensors, LED lights, a built-in speaker, and a strong polycarbonate shell.
